ECO SCHOOLS kENYA CHAPTER

The Kenya Organization For Environmental Education [KOEE], in collaboration with the Danish Out-Door Council [DOC] and with funding from The Danish International Development Agency [DANIDA] is currently implementing an Eco-schools pilot project in Nyanza.

Twelve schools are involved in this pilot project and it is expected that it will spread to the entire country in a short while. This will be the second such project in Africa.

The project has been a big success so far as per the preliminary evaluation. The participating schools are carefully going through The Steps of Becoming an Eco-school with the close guidance and supervision of KOEE.

All the twelve schools have successfully implemented various micro-projects, which are expected to serve their intended purposes and also act as Learning resources both for the school and the wider community.

Updates of this pilot project can be found in the recently launched: ‘ECO-SCHOOLS KENYA NEWSLETTER’ Which is a quarterly newsletter published by The Kenya Organization For Environmental Education.[KOEE].
