The Kenya Organization of Environmental Education (KOEE) was as a venture towards the Agenda 21- a global partnership to protect the dignity of the environment.

KOEE's vision: An enlightened society that sustainably manages its resources and having improved livelihoods.

KOEE's mission: To promote and re-orient environmental education towards sustainable development through appropriate and realistic national and regional programmes for people to actively participate in solving environmental problems.

KOEE motto:"Taking action - Safe Earth".

KOEE OBJECTIVES
KOEE's establishment is based on a number of objectives that have shaped up the reputable image of the organization. Some of KOEE specific objectives are:

• To advocate for the principles of Education for Sustainability through training in environmental Education, curriculum and material development and public awareness activities for a healthy environment in Kenya and the region.
• To promote Environmental Action Learning through various local and Regional programmes and initiatives for sustainable resource utilization and conservation.
• To build capacities of communities through collaborative training and research programmes, targeting all sectors for acquisition of knowledge and skills for sustainable development.
• To initiate various community micro-projects that are WEHAB based and with due consideration of Democratic principles, Human rights; children and gender for the attainment of MDG's and PRSP's goals.
• To set up a regional environmental education infrastructure through networking stakeholders, Lobbying and advocacy, Civil Society and Organizational Capacity building.
