In line with the 2008 world environment day event the Kenya Organization for Environmental Education-KOEE, UNEP, Nature Kenya and Rotary club of Kenya teamed up to organize a green cup soccer tournament and tree planting which was held at city park grounds on the 31st May 2008 from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.

The Main objectives:
      1. Sensitization on the need for environmental conservation and sustainable          development
      2. Unite youth regardless of their ethnicity race, status or boundaries
      3. Encourage dialogue, integration with the purpose of sharing ideas and showcasing           talents.

Main activities included:
      1. Tree planting
      2. Cleanup
      3. Soccer tournament.

Official opening of the event.

The event was officially opened by the Rotary Club of Nairobi (RCN) and the Executive Director of KOEE Dr. Dorcas Otieno.
